LUIGI ANGELINI (Bergamo 1884 - 1969) A GROUP OF HOUSES
Pen and brown ink over traces in black chalk; 205 x 303 mm. Titled 'Schizzo per ricostruzione / dei paesi devastati sul BRENTA' Signed with initials and dated 'LA / 1918 ottobre'. Luigi Angelini graduated as engineer in 1907, at the Milanese 'Politecnico'. In 1908 he entered the studio of Marcello Piacentini, and in 1910 worked for Piacentini at the Italian pavilion at the World Exposition in Brussels. Luigi Angelini worked extensively as architect in Bergamo until 1950. He was also an historian of Art and Architecture in Bergamo, an art collector and an accomplished draftsman and etcher.
