FRANCESCO BARATTA (Genoa c. 1805 - 1835) DRAPED FEMALE FIGURE

The drawing was originally part of a group owned by Carlo Prayer (1826-1900) and attributed by him to Francesco Baratta. Baratta studied in Rome under Vincenzo Camuccini. He was appointed to the chair of painting at the Genoese Accademia in 1827. He worked mainly in Genoa.
