A graphic artist, a caricaturist and a designer, Bianconi attended the Istituto d'Arte at the Accademia in Venice. During the late Thirties, he worked as a caricaturist, graphic artist and illustrator for various important Italian publishing houses. After World War II he came to Murano to study glass techniques and met Paolo Venini. Bianconi began his collaboration with Venini, as a designer of glass pieces, in 1947. He later worked with other glasshouses. A believer in the creative freedom of the artist, Bianconi worked relentlessly for more than 60 years, designing thousands of book covers, illustrating books, creating thousands of unique glass objects as well as many paintings. |
