| FELICE CARENA (Cumiana, Turin 1870 - Venice 1966) TWO WARRIORS Pen and black ink, 290 x 229 mm; signed 'Carena'. Carena studied at the Accademia Albertina, in Turin, under Giacomo Grosso. His friendship with Giovanni Bistolfi disposed him toward Symbolism and Divisionism. Later he was influenced by Impressionism, Post-Impressionism and Cezanne. In 1924 Carena became professor of painting at the Florentine Accademia di belle Arti. After the Second World War he moved to Venice. |
