GIOVANNI BATTISTA CREMA (Ferrara 1883 - Rome 1964) A SATYR IN A WOOD
Brown ink and watercolour; 185 x 285 mm. Signed 'GBCrema'.

Crema studied in Naples and Bologna before moving to Rome in 1903. Much of his earliest work was concerned with socio-humanistic issues. The artist was also fascinated with mythology. Crema joined to the colour theories of neo-impressionism.
