FRANCESCO CURRADI (Florence 1570 - 1661) A YOUNG MAN READING A BOOK
|
The son of a jeweller, Francesco Curradi trained under Giovanni Battista Naldini and in 1590 matriculated in the Accademia del Disegno, Florence. He produced many devotional works and had a large clientele. At their best, the paintings by Curradi are distinguished by lucid draughtsmanship, simple compositions and elegant, melancholy figures. |
