Pier Dandini was born to a family of artists. He was the son and pupil of the painter Vincenzo Dandini and his uncle Cesare was a prominent painter in Florence. In addition to having training within the family, Pietro traveled to Bologna, Modena, Venice and Rome. He was patronized by members of the Medici family and completed a number of ecclesiastical commissions in Florence and Tuscany; he also worked for the Florentine nobility. |
