The drawing is a study for the painting (1771) by Giuseppe Diziani in the church consecrated to St. John the Baptist (San Giovanni in Valle) in Cividale del Friuli. A sketch for the same composition, originally in the collection of the so-called 'Reliable Collector', has been published by Alessandro Bettagno in 1966; see A.
