Pen and black ink, grey wash, over traces in black chalk; 230 x 354 mm. Inscribed in pen 'S. Giovanni' and 'S. Matteo'. Inscribed in pencil 'Carlo Fontana - coadiuvato da Bramati - nella chiesa di Fagnano Olona / dipinto eseguito nel 1836'.
I wasn't able to find any information about Carlo Fontana, an artist active in Lombardy in the first half of nineteenth century who was, judging from this drawing, strongly influenced by Andrea Appiani.
