ROMOLO LIVERANI (Faenza 1809 - 1872) FOUR SKETCHES OF COUNTRYSIDE LANDSCAPES NEAR GENTILLY (Val-de-Marne)
Pen and brown ink, washed in grey, over traces in black chalk; 155 x 210 mm. Inscribed in pen and brown ink on the verso 'Vue prize près de Gentilly'. PROVENANCE: libreria antiquaria Matteo Tonini, Ravenna; private collection, Bologna.

Liverani was the favorite pupil of Pietro Tomba at the architecture school in Faenza. He worked in several theaters as set designer with his brother Antonio and was also an interior decorator. This drawing comes from a dismembered notebook of French live landscapes.
