QUINTO MARTINI (Seano, Florence 1908 - 1990) STANDING FEMALE FIGURE
Bronze, c. 1938, 43,5 by 12 by 11,5 cm. Signed on the base 'quintoM'.

Quinto Martini was an important figure in the cultural and artistic life of 20th-century Florence. A pupil and then a friend of Ardengo Soffici, he was mainly a sculptor and a painter. Quinto participated in the 1927 exhibition promoted by the Florentine weekly political and cultural journal 'Il Selvaggio', together with Mino Maccari, Carlo CarrĂ , Ottone Rosai, Giorgio Morandi. In 1934 he exhibited at the Biennale in Venice. He was a professor at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence in the 1960s and 1970s.
