The penwork of this fine Parmigianinesque drawing is reminiscent of several drawings published by Diane De Grazia in her researches on the artists working at the Ottavio Farnese's ducal court in Parma. Bertoja and Mirola were the most important artists working for that court. See: Diane De Grazia, 'Bertoja, Mirola and the Farnese Court', Bologna, 1991.
