RUGGERO PANERAI (Florence 1862 - Paris 1923) STREET SCENE
Pen and brown ink over black chalk, signed 'R. Panerai'; 80 x 140 mm. A light sketch of a figure on the verso. PROVENANCE: Bonamici (possibly Diomede Bonamici); Anna Franchi (1867-1954), her inscription on the verso 'Collezione Bonamici / Anna Franchi'. Minor defects.
Taught at the Florentine Accademia, Panerai was, then, a pupil of Giovanni Fattori. In 1888 he became a professor at the Bolognese Accademia. He exhibited in Paris in 1889, at the Exposition Universelle.
