GIULIO PORCINAI (Impruneta 1912 - Grassina 1973) STANDING FEMALE FIGURE WITH A GUITAR
|
Porcinai was a pupil of Libero Andreotti at the Istituto d'Arte in Florence. In that school he was teacher of sculpture in marble and stone since 1944. Porcinai was influenced, in his work, by the sculpture of the Ancient Egypt and of the Cyclades islands. For another sculpture of a woman with a guitar, very similar to this one, see 'Giulio Porcinai. Sculture e disegni 1935-1972', catalogue of the exhibition at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, Florence, February 1994, no. 19. |
