Black chalk, washed in grey, inscribed 'Vitale Sala' in black chalk; 205 x 322 mm.

A pupil of Pelagio Palagi, Vitale Sala collaborated with him for the great decorations at the Stupinigi and Racconigi castles. He also painted frescoes for several churches in Milan, all around Lombardy and Piedmont, such as in Vigevano's and Novara's cathedrals.
