Pen and brown ink, brown wash, over traces in black chalk; squared in black chalk. 197 x 272 mm. Part of a study of an angel on verso. Inscribed on verso by an old hand, in pen 'Sarnelli / Scol. del Giordano'. Watermark: indistinct.
The attribution on the verso of this Giordanesque drawing is interesting. Three Sarnelli brothers (Antonio, Gennaro and Giovanni) are recorded as painters in Naples in 18th century.
