Pietro Scoppetta was taught by the painter Giacomo Di Chirico. He travelled to Rome and Milan in the eighties, and lived in Paris between 1900 and 1909, visiting London. A landscape and figure painter, Scoppetta was also a fine portrait painter, specializing in elegant female portraits in the 'Belle époque' taste. See M. Bignardi, 'Pietro Scoppetta.
