The son of Arnaldo Tamburini Senior, the young artist followed in his father's footsteps as portrait painter. In 1901 he set out for Canada to paint Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister of Canada, and the following year he was at St Patrick's Cathedral painting the Archbishop of New York. He continued painting some of world's most illustrious people of his time. After his marriage in 1914 he resided in New York and made many trips to Italy. A portrait of Enrico Caruso painted by Tamburini Jr. is in Florence, Galleria d'arte moderna di Palazzo Pitti; see, Gli Uffizi, Catalogo Generale, Florence, 1979, cat. 1c507, p. 669. As well as portraits, Tamburini painted allegorical compositions and landscapes. |
