Amalfi 1863 - Naples 1920

Pietro Scoppetta was taught by the painter Giacomo Di Chirico at the Istituto of Fine Arts in Naples. He travelled to Rome and Milan in the eighties, and lived in Paris between 1900 and 1909, visiting London. A landscape and figure painter, Scoppetta was also a fine portrait painter, specializing in elegant female portraits in the Belle époque taste. See M. Bignardi, Pietro Scoppetta.
