Belonging to the noble Cremonese family of the Marquises Stanga, he undertook his artistic activity for his own pleasure, not out of necessity. He dedicated himself to etching and lithography. Amalia Mezzetti described him as follows: "... a friend and disciple of Oreste Silvestri, he knew the difficult secrets of etching like no one else." A member of the Association of Italian Etchers (Associazione Acquafortisti italiani), he participated in numerous Italian and foreign exhibitions, including those in London in 1908 and 1916. His etchings were exhibited in Cremona, first at the Cremonese Art Exhibition of 1910 and a second time in 1929, in a posthumous exhibition at the Civic Museum.
In 1984, during a move from a villa in Brianza, 36 plates he had engraved were rediscovered, likely representing the majority of his work as an etcher. The plates were reprinted with great skill in 1985 by Grafica Lombardi in Rome. Contemporary etchings are rare, as the artist printed them as proofs and never in actual editions.
