The drawings were made with a subtraction technique, after preparing the cardboards with with a dark bituminous substance. Each signed B. Ghivarello.

A pupil of Lorenzo Delleani and Giuseppe Scaglia, Ghivarello made his debut at the Second Quadrennial of Turin in 1908. He specialized in landscape paintings, participating in numerous exhibitions in Turin and Genoa.  Appreciated for his life technique and use of the palette knife, he influenced artists such as Giovanni Cestari.
