Giovanni Battista was the founder of a family of artists active in Verona, made up of him and his sons Marco, Nicola, Francesco and Angelo. A pupil of Simone Brentana, he was influenced by Sebastano Ricci and by the early works of Giovan Battista Tiepolo.
